Island Cres

The island of Cres is the largest island of Croatia. Cres fascinates its visitors with a lovely play of colours of its evergreen vegetation, its rocks and the blue of the sea.
You can find here more than 1,300 different plants and a variety of animals, amongst them the endangered bird Griffon Vulture.
Many promenades, footpaths and hiking paths are very popular among Cres tourists. Local beauties can also be enjoyed while riding a bike.
Cres island is proud of its historical and cultural heritage: Liburnian buildings, remains of Antique cities, very old Catholic churches, monasteries...
Martinščica's historical core consists of the church of St Martin with a Franciscan monastery (16th century) and Castello of Sforza family (17th century).
